The Oak - Brand new countryside 2 bedroom annex - From £165 Per Night

Brilliant weekend break. Positive: The location was great. Walks in the woods & by the river. Quality beds & beautiful cotton bedding. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of plates etc & serving bowls. Very comfortable property - there were 5 of us plus a dog. Plenty of parking as we had 4 cars - unfortunately everyone came from different directions. Negative: Guess the sofa bed could have been more comfortable by adding an extra bit of padding - like a Duvalay topper.

Wonderful stay in spacious building with very responsive hosts. Positive: The high quality finish throughout, the nice varied artwork, including the large clock, the wonderful rain shower and a large selection of choices on the large tv. The hosts always replied quickly about any queries I had. Negative: The stairs upstairs are very steep so you have to be careful going up and down using the handrail. The wooden bed was a bit creaky, probably due to the very hot weather.

Perfect Positive: Beautiful location. Peace and quiet. Quality interior. Plenty of crockery, cutlery and pots and pans. The bed linen was so soft, clean and fresh. Shower amazing. Negative: Nothing at all.

Idyllic setting out of town. Very quiet and peaceful. Near to a cricket pitch and golf course. Positive: What a lovely looking property. Seems to have been recently been done. Decoration was a high spec. Good amount of kitchen appliances etc… Negative: The entrance lock was a bit tricky for our party. It would be good to explain that while you are lifting the handle you should also be turning the key at the same time and not separately. The way to the twin bedroom is accessed by loft stairs and some people may not find this to their liking.
