An unpleasant experience, though I slept ok. Positive: The bed was comfortable. The sheets and towels were good quality. Negative: The entrance was precarious, dirty and inutile (metal stairs felt dangerous, door opened outwards blocking cases). In one room: No lamps worked. The bathroom smelt horrible on arrival (with the door open and the fan on, this subsided0.

By definition it wasn't an Inn. No pub, no food, no heating, no breakfast Positive: The photographs on Booking.com looked wonderful Negative: It was one of those unattended "properties" which had nothing to do with the pub in which we managed to get warm. Very hard to find the entrance door and which codes to use. No phone number was given in case of difficulties. Heating in the room was turned right down and no way to turn it back on. The electric hair dryer prove a useful item to at least take off the chill. The bathroom had a really strong odour of ammonia, like the rotting fish you get in Sweden. Flushing the toilet and washbasin didn't improve the situation. The room was at most 4 x 5 metres, nothing like the huge room in the photographs and much of the useable floor space was occupied by a huge dog's bed. I wasn't sure if I should put it out in the hallway but didn't want to touch it anyway. Plus points: The duvet was of a heavy winter quality so slept well in a warm bed. Thoughtful of the owners who obviously knew the room would be very cold. My advice: if it is going to be an unattended property say so clearly on the Booking.com website!

Good rooms in a great location Positive: The location for us was great and the free parking made it easy too. There was some confusion with the rooms but it was sorted out quickly. Negative: There were not enough tea bags in the room (only 2) and the shower basin didn't drain well so it had to be a quick shower.
